All that glitters is not gold...

But they just might be delicious.

These were for a friend who wanted a treat to bring in for her birthday at work. White chocolate candy coating, yellow cake and vanilla frosting. Then I sprinkled shiny blue sprinkles all over, to turn all the tongues in the office blue. Cakepops are one of my favorite things to eat because not only are they cake and frosting (which, in case it isn't clear, I LOVE), to make it even BETTER you dip them in chocolate. What's not to like?

Just writing this is making me hungry...I might just have to make some tonight!

Welcome to my blog! I've been learning to decorate cakes since September, and since I love to look at pictures of other people's cakes I figured there could be some folks out there who would enjoy seeing mine.

I want to congratulate my brother and his wonderful fiancee for giving me a reason to bake a cake (and on their impending nuptuals). I made this cake and cupcakes for their shower. It was my second time working with fondant, and I was really pleased with how everything turned out.

The cake was french vanilla with a strawberry compote filling and vanilla/whiskey butter cream frosting under the fondant. The cupcakes were devil's food with strawberry compote filling, and the shower was a great success!
